Weekly Roundup

001 This week, my boyfriend's mum and sister came to visit us at our new flat! That morning, I had been super busy baking little muffins and also attempted to bake bread by myself for the first time! I am glad to say, they absolutely loved them, and I just wish I could have baked more for them to take home with them!!
This particular photo is of a chocolate muffin I baked, topped with strawberry flavoured butter cream. The recipe will be up soon if you want to follow it, but the muffins themselves were absolutely gorgeous (and also super low in fat!!)

002 I really have been baking a lot this week. There's something about a lovely home made meal that I am currently obsessing over. I love trying new things out! I've seen a few bloggers make their own home made pizza and I just had to make some!! (I'm really in love with pizza, just to let you know! But I wanted to find a really healthy recipe. This recipe in particular had no yeast and the base is only made out of flour, oil and water!) Well anyway...this pizza went down well! My boyfriend absolutely loved it and has been asking for it every night since!!

003 As you may or may not know...I am absolutely obsessed with teacups! I love collecting teacups as well as using them to make teacup candles! I find them anywhere and everywhere, from charity shops to car boot sales (I sometimes get given teacups by family members too, which is always lovely!!) In particular, I love pink teacups (not that I'm overly obsessed with the colour pink!!) I found this teacup in a charity shop back at home and managed to purchase a set of 4 of them including their plates and saucers for £5 ish which was such a bargain!!! Now, they currently fill up our flat waiting to be filled with wax...But I do also like the idea of collecting some of them to drink out of, even though I'd probably be scared of breaking them!!

004 This is another shot of the muffins I made at the beginning of this week for my boyfriend's mum and sister. Half of them are chocolate/cocoa/coffee and the other half were peach and lemon!!
(I will make a blog post to show all of you how I made them soon!)

005 I've seen many bloggers attempt 'marbled nails'...so of course I had to give them a go! I watched a video on youtube last night which made it look fairly simple, and this is the result!! I was fairly pleased with how they turned out. My boyfriend isn't that keen on the colour, but I quite like it! I love pink and blue together!!
My left hand didn't quite turn out that well, but it was my first attempt!! I will also post a tutorial soon on how I achieved this look!

006 I have to share with you my current obsession....I love collecting jam jars, tin cans and glass bottles!! I don't know why I just suddenly became obsessed but I absolutely love buying food in cans/jars just so I can clean them out and keep them after consumption!!! (Normally we buy jams a lot as a snack on toast, and we end up buying an Asda smart price one, and they're usually only about 40p!!)
I use my jam jars for candle making or as storage! I also love the idea of using my porcelain pens on them to create cute little drawings and patterns, then filling them up with sweeties to give as gifts!!

Also this week, my blog giveaway came to an end, and I just want to thank you all so much for taking part!
I'm also trying to develop my blog a bit more, I want to include lots of tutorials (baking, nails, makeup and home accessories!) I'm also looking forward to Halloween so much, and I'm aiming to do one tutorial a week to show you how to do Halloween on a budget!! So thank you all for your support so far! It's been amazing!
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

  3. Oh wow, I think I love everything in all these photos! I love teacups too and have been hunting for some vintage-y ones ever since I saw someone who had planted a pot plant in a teacup - I thought it looked brilliant! Your marble-y nails look great, I've seen a few people try them and say they were really difficult so sounds like you did really well! And that pizza and those muffins look mega yummy!

  12. Nice post! I too have spent most of my week baking. Also attempted making sweets. It really wasn't as fun as I'd imagined. Especially the rhubarb and custards. Bit of a disaster lol. Alas! The peanut butter fudge was nice, though. I'm following you now :)
