Weekly Roundup

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you've had a really spook-tastic weekend!! It's weird to think we've already celebrated Halloween yet Halloween itself is today!! Ha...anyway....

These are the nails I decided on for Halloween!! I went shopping with the bf on Saturday and found these lovely transfers in Accessorize! They were however super fiddly to apply and ended up rather sticky! But for Saturday night, they looked lovely teamed up with Models Own Snow White!!!

Our pumpkins were rather hilarious this year! We went to Tesco on Friday and they only had two pumpkins left! (We always end up getting the last pumpkin for some reason!) Last year was the same! And of course....people leave the yucky looking pumpkins don't they! Ours were not the prettiest..... So the bf made the most of the giant hole one had and used it as a nose! He ended up looking rather Japanese!!

My collection of sweeties (no, I didn't actually eat all of them myself!!) I used some of the sweeties in the liquorice allsorts bag as eyes on some chocolate cupcakes!!

No, this was not my Halloween costume! But how lovely do I look?! Much better than the usual face.... (ahem!!)
This was my boyfriend's mask! Haha!! He looked rather hilarious in it, and he teamed it up with my fluffy devil horns....Even funnier! I wore a black body con dress with large shoulder pads, cat ears and some knee length kitty socks!!! I loved some people's costumes we saw Saturday night such as - LMFAO guys (these were amazing!!!) Little Red Riding Hood, Super Woman + Wonder Woman, Leopards and many more amazing costumes!! At least I have many ideas for next year!! I really want someone to have a costume party some time soon....I want to go as Lady Gaga from the Telephone video so I can put a telephone on my head....Ha!!

My cute looking pumpkin...!!

My mini home made pizzas! I want to make these again...they were lovely! I happened to share them with my brother last week..but I might make some for the bf some time this week! Since it's actually Halloween today, I'm tempted to put some decorations up while the bf is at uni and cook a lovely meal for tonight!!! Also I want to cook a home made lasagne some point this week!! Yum yum....!!

How was your weekend? I hope you had a really great time! What did you all go as??
As you all know, my first Christmas Craft Fair is a week on Sunday (13th November) at Sheffield!! If you're in the area, please come over and say hi (and maybe buy some goodies!!) I have a lot of work to do this week, so expect lots of candles/knitted items blog posts and a LOT of tea drinking!!
Let me know if you can come to Sheffield!!

We Love Pumpkins

Today has been spent in town with my boyfriend, looking for some Halloween goodies! We bought some cute treats (lovely pumpkin decorated sponge cake, Terry's Chocolate Orange but pumpkin inspired and come costume accessories) I still, quite honestly, have no idea what I'm going to wear tomorrow night! I think I'm going to hope for the best! I saw some incredibly cute cat ears in Claire's Accessories that I badly wanted, but I decided not to buy them and when I went back, they didn't have any left! I'll have to take lots of pictures to show you what I actually decided on!
It's a bit sad really that Halloween will be over as fast as it came round! I really love Halloween!
After our day of shopping today, we came back to a lovely home made meal by my boyfriend's mum which finished the day perfectly (even though it's not quite over yet!!)
Hopefully tomorrow will be spent in preparation for a spook-tastic Halloween night out!! Makeup, nail painting, Halloween food and lots of nice wine!!
I hope you've all had a lovely week! I'm apologising for the extremely short blog post this evening due to the fact I'm spending the weekend at my boyfriend's house at home, and I don't want to be rude!
I will update you with pics of my Halloween outfit tomorrow!!!

What I Love This Week...

This week, I've really felt the cold here in north Wales!! On many nights it's actually been around two degrees...Freezing!! I like to keep myself warm with plenty of cups of tea, nice wooly jumpers and cute mittens!!
This week has been a fairly busy week so far! My boyfriend is catching a train home tonight so we can spend a lovely halloween weekend together back here!! I have to pick him up by seven and I'm not half ready yet! The halloween costume is still undecided (I have left it way too late this year!) So I think I'll be going with some patterned tights, a black dress and a witch hat!!
The first photo is of extremely adorable vintage teacups I found at a charity shop in Aberystwyth last week. They didn't have any matching saucers, but I bought these ones to go along with them and I think the combination is just adorable! I only managed to get two, so I think I will keep one for myself!!

I also visited my favourite shop ever while I went to see Carla at Aber! The shop is called Polly and the third photographs show my purchases! Some cute scented candles!! I am obsessed with candles, I spend my days making them too! I also have numerous amounts of oil burners around the house which I just love to use!!
This week I have been wearing my faux leather jacket from Primark a LOT! I love it! I had actually been looking for a leather jacket for what seemed like months, and finally I found one that fit perfectly for only £20!! Bargain! I've been teaming it up with winter knits and patterned tights as pictured above!! The mittens were also a fairly cheap find. They cost £7 from Peacocks (I never usually shop at Peacocks, but I happened to pop in last week and I fell in love with these mittens! They also have a cord which I love!)

As you can see, a shot of my hair there! Ha! I've had some pretty awful experiences with my hair lately, well...One in particular! I used to be a dark chocolate brown before dying my hair back blonde (I'm naturally a dark blonde, and have been blonde practically all my life, and yes it was a really stupid and quick decision to go dark!) Anyway, a while ago after I got my hair dyed, it was in absolute severe condition. I had literally gone from dark brown to a medium blonde within a few weeks! Ouch..! After that experience, I have always gone back to my original hair salon, and my hairdresser is absolutely fantastic, she recommended Sebastian Penetraitt shampoo and conditioner. I only bought the conditioner since they were around £14 each. But just as a quick recommendation, it's really fantastic! It's aimed at really damaged hair, and my hair desperately needed it! You only need the tiniest amount each time you use it, which is fantastic!!

Anyway....moving on to other things I absolutely love this week....Secret Diary Of A Call Girl! I am in love with Billie Piper, end of! I loved her in Doctor Who as well! I've bought the dvd's off ebay a while ago and watched the entire first series in a few days time! I loved it!
I also popped to a local charity shop earlier today and randomly found the book for a pound! I had been wanting to buy it for a long time, but the cheapest I could find online was about £3. But I'm so excited to read it!
Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely week!
I will be off to the train station soon to pick up my boyfriend, so expect some Halloween inspired posts in the next two days!!

Evil Pumpkin

I absolutely love this time of year! When you cut open a pumpkin, that's when it feels like Halloween!! I used to hate the smell as a child, but as I've grown up, I've grown to like it!
Halloween is probably the beginning of winter for me. It's that time of year where it starts to get colder and is dark at tea time! But in all honesty, I love this time of year...I love the coldness, I love the warm drinks in front of the fire, the mittens and scarves and cute winter coats!
Today in fact was the first time I carved a pumpkin all by myself! Last year, I made one with my boyfriend but he took over and carved like mad! It actually turned out fantastic, but I wanted to do my own this year! If you had seen me earlier, you'd think I was in the middle of a surgical procedure....Rubber gloves and all! It was slightly hilarious, I wish I could've filmed it! However, I did take a few photos, and as you can see from the second photograph I have my 'surgical' glove on!!
To be fair, I think my lantern looks hilariously evil (in a cute way...if that's even possible!!) I can't wait to put a little tea light inside!!
There's something truly magical yet haunting about Halloween and I can't wait for my Halloween weekend!!
What are you all up to?
I still need to sort out my outfit.....get a move on Fiona!!!

Blog Sale

Since it's always nice to have extra pennies at this time of year, I have decided to host a blog sale after debating for absolutely ages! Sorry about the boring photographs, but I thought you might be interested in some of these clothes before I put them up on ebay/take them to a charity we go....

I've only worn this cardigan a few times, it's still in really excellent condition but it's a bit too long for me so I never wear it any more!!

Halloween Food Ideas : Mini Pizzas

So, Halloween is fast approaching, are you all ready for it? I'm definitely not!!! Following my successful home made pizza recipe (you can view it here) I decided to make these mini pizzas as a cute little Halloween party food idea!!

I rolled my pizza dough out and cut out little circles with a cookie cutter. Alternatively, if you don't have one, you can use a saucer/glass and cut around it with a knife!
These mini pizza bases were put on a baking tray covered in baking parchment, before placing them in the oven on 180 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, they should be much firmer and slightly risen! Take them out of the oven and give them a layer of tomato puree along with anything else you'd like as a topping!!
Cook for a further 10 minutes...
And there you go.....perfect party mini pizzas!!!

Weekly Roundup

The other day, I went out and bought a cute fur stole/collar from H&M after seeing it making an appearance on many blogs! I had previously bought their faux fur mittens (I am so in love with them it's unbelievable!!) earlier that week! I'm really excited to team up my faux fur collar and mittens with some cute knits this winter (it's already freezing cold here in Wales!)
I teamed it up with some cute printed leggings and jumper dress from H&M over the weekend to keep myself warm!!

Last week our neighbour's cat came to say hello! She's really lovely and got a little bit excited to see us as we were giving her lots and lots of attention! I really wish we could have a pet of some sort in the flat but it's not really practical! We have plenty of space but unfortunately no back garden, just a big park behind us! I don't think we'd really get a cat, I think me and my boyfriend are dog lovers more than anything else!

Being at home has made me really appreciate the beautiful landscape here in north Wales. I literally wake up every morning to this beautiful view! Our house is fairly near mount Snowdon and we can see it through the window! The other morning, this is the view I woke up to, it was around 8am and the sun was rising beautifully behind Snowdon! I took the opportunity to go out in my car and take some beautiful pictures at Llanberis near Lake Padarn.

This week as always, my nail art obsession is still incredibly strong! I only happen to have my Models Own polishes with me, all the others have been left at the flat! When I visited my friends Carla and Lora last week, I transformed their nails with some cute leopard print designs! They both absolutely loved them and grew their very own nail art obsessions. Pictured above are some different coloured leopard print nails as well as Nude Beige teamed up with Juicy Jules for some weekend glamming up!
Does anyone else find that Juicy Jules can be a bitch to get off? JJ, I love the way you look, but damn you just don't want to come off do you?!

Llanddwyn is probably one of my favourite places to visit in north Wales. I went there with my dad last week to take some photographs of the forest (it was a bit too windy to take a walk along the beach and island!) I love the myth behind Llanddwyn, it's strangely beautiful and the magic of the forest and island is really unique and definitely worth a visit!

After I took a picture out of my window of the sun rising behind Snowdon, I knew that day would be a fantastic day to go to Llanberis and take some (hopefully) breathtaking photographs.
This is the picture I took. It actually started to rain as I was taking these photographs. But I loved how the sun was peeking through the clouds between both mountains.
One of the things I've loved the most about being home is being able to jump in my car, drive and land somewhere truly magnificent and breathtaking. I've spent days on end travelling with my Canon over the past few weeks!

If you follow me on Twitter, you would know that I badly wanted to experiment with my hair last week! I felt the need to do something different with it for a change! So just to basically let you in on what my hair has been like over the past few years...I've always had blonde hair, and ever since I was 15 I've had blonde highlights in my hair. Gradually, I got more and more until my usual became a full head of blonde highlights! After years of being blonde, I went and dyed my hair dark brown a few years ago (total disaster for me....I have a naturally pale complexion and blue eyes, and I felt the dark hair made me look really ill!!) So I decided to go back blonde, gradually having more and more blonde highlights each time to build up the colour.
Stupidly.....last May I dyed my hair brown again after debating whether it would be easier to maintain than blonde! Currently, my hair is a medium-ish blonde. August I had some highlights put in, and I've had it done about twice since then.
So anyway, I've been wanting to try some pink or lilac dip dye hair...!! This was the result after putting some pale pink highlights in my hair! I came to the conclusion that unfortunately my hair was not blonde enough for this look! And although I applied the colour on my tips, it just didn't stand out at all! Sorry hair, but you'll have to wait a bit longer for your coloured tips!!
(The dye I used was La Riche Directions in Pale Pink)

Halloween is fast approaching and I haven't even done half the stuff I wanted to do in preparation for it! I wanted to experiment with some nail art designs for my Halloween weekend, along with some unique eye makeup and DIY party decorations!!
Unfortunately all I managed to do was munch on some fang-tastic sweeties instead!! I promise I will try and be more Halloween-ey this week, after all, it's a week today!! I intend to bake a Halloween inspired cake for my boyfriend's mum too!!
My boyfriend decided to book a train home in order to spend the weekend with me before going back to the flat next Sunday! So we have decided to have a meal out on Friday night with his mum, and head off to town for some drinky times/Halloween celebration on Saturday!
I can't wait!! But before that, I need to bake a cake + decorate it in true Halloween style and find an outfit for this weekend (two in fact!!) Wish me luck....

So anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely Monday! If you have any suggestions what I should wear for Halloween, please let me know!!
Also, I'm thinking of hosting a blog sale, so let me know what you think of that!!

Faux Fur Or No Fur

This is a super quick blog post in fact just to show all of you what I'm currently wearing and obsessing over this weekend!! I've seen many bloggers in fact blog about this H&M faux fur collar/stole and I just had to get it after I went and got my faux fur mittens earlier this week! It's £12.99 and has a concealed clip so you can attach it to a cardi, coat, jumper.....anything!! I love how it's instantly transformed my lovely pink coat! I got the coat at the New Look sale a while ago, I love wearing it, but I tend to wear it every day now, so it's really nice to make it look slightly different!
I am also still currently obsessing over leopard print nails thanks to my Models Own nail art pen! While I was out, I got this lilac Barry M nail paint to add more colour to my usual leopard look!
Anyway, I hope you're all having a really lovely weekend so far!!!
Expect more candles/baking/outfit posts over next week! I still have lots and lots to show you! Plus I'm staying here for an extra week (my boyfriend has booked a train home at the end of next week so we can spend next weekend together + Halloween times!!) I still need to plan some sort of Halloween outfit too....wish me luck!!

If You Go Down To The Woods Today...

For days I have been wanting to go to Llanddwyn beach but unfortunately the weather has been too wet and windy!! Today, the sun was out, and despite being a little bit on the cold side, it was a really lovely day! I instantly took the opportunity to go to Llanddwyn!
For those of you who don't know where Llanddwyn is, it's located on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey and around 15 minute drive from Bangor. Llanddwyn is named after Saint Dwynwen (the welsh equivalent to St Valentine)

"Dwynwen fell in love with Maelon Daffodrill, who she wished to marry. There are several different versions of the story: that Maelon rejected Dwynwen’s love for him; her father refused Dwynwen to marry Maelon because he had already found a suitor to whom he would have Dwynwen married; or Maelon discovered the Prince’s plan to marry Dwynwen to another man and in his frustration, he raped Dwynwen and abandoned her.

In her heartbreak and upset, Dwynwen fled to the woods where she prayed to God to make her forget Maelon and her feelings towards him. Falling into a deep sleep, Dwynwen was visited by an angel who gave her a potion. On giving the potion to Maelon, he suddenly turned into a block of ice.

Afterwards God granted Dwynwen three wishes. Her first wish was for Maelon to be thawed; secondly she requested that through her, God would care for all true lovers; and thirdly, she wished to never marry. Her three wishes granted, Dwynwen retreated to Llanddwyn Island, a small island off Anglesey, and there she devoted her life to God as a way of thanks for the granting of her three wishes. In her devotion she built a convent and a stone church upon the island. As well as becoming the Welsh patron saint of lovers, she also became the patron saint of sick animals.

Dwynwen died in 640 AD. Since then, Llanddwyn Island and her church have been visited by hundreds of pilgrims every year. Lovers visit the island annually to discover their destiny. Many believe that by following the particular movements of the eels and fish that live in the pilgrim’s well on the island, lovers will be able to see if their love is true."

Just before heading off to Llanddwyn, me and my dad stopped at Llanberis to take some lovely photographs of Padarn Lake and Dolbadarn Castle. Because the weather was so incredibly cold, I decided to wear my faux fur mittens (my dad now calls them little hamsters!!) along with my new biker style boots and my hand knitted headband!!

Here is a list of what I wore and where I got them:

Leopard Print Mac
New Look

Biker Style Boots

Faux Fur Mittens

Black Legging Jeans

Knitted Headband
Hand knitted by myself!

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely day so far!! Just as a reply to anyone who's interested: Yes I am selling my knitted headbands, I'm mainly knitting them for my Christmas Craft Fairs, but if you have a special request I am more than willing to knit one for you! For further information feel free to email me at:

Show Us Your Woolies!!

Today's plan completely went out the window!! I was intending on going to Llanddwyn beach with my dad and take pictures in the surrounding forest....It had basically been fairly sunny this morning with a few showers, but just before we stepped out the front door, it started to pour down with rain!! I was not at all impressed, I really love Llanddwyn and I probably won't get a chance to go there for a while now! So anyway, I picked up the latest H&M magazine which came through the post and saw some cute jumpers in it, I thought they would be absolutely perfect for winter (the weather over here is so unpredictable, when I drove home tonight it was two degrees......Soo cold!!!)
So anyway, we went off shopping and my dad treated me to a few winter woolies (thank you daddy!) My favourite item is the absolutely adorable faux fur mittens....I literally fell in love with them when I saw them. Yes they are huge but they remind me of Where The Wild Things Are (please correct me if I'm wrong and don't make any sense at all towards that reference but I've only seen half the film....I shamefully fell asleep, and no, not because I was bored, I was genuinely really tired that day!!!)

Here is a list of what I'm wearing:

Cabled Jumper

Knitted Headband

Faux Fur Mittens

Pink Coat
New Look (sale item)

Cabled Scarf
British Red Cross

Hope you're all having a lovely and warm week! Keep wrapped up in your woolies!!!
