DIY Cheese Party Labels

Photobucket Photobucket

Since I haven't posted on here for quite some time, I thought I would share with you my little DIY cheese labels!
I'm a huge cheese lover, and spent last night having a lovely cheese and wine evening with one of my best friends. I have plenty of leftovers ready for tonight's meal, along with some warm mulled wine!

First of all, I designed my labels on Photoshop as long strips, printed them out and cut them! Then - glue  the strip, place a cocktail stick in the middle, and fold in half. There you have it, an easy, simple and cute way to label cheese for your Christmas parties!

I hope you're all having a very lovely weekend so far. I can't believe it's Christmas on Tuesday...!
I hope Santa will be very kind to all of you!!

Melted Snowmen Biscuits

Photobucket Photobucket

I recently came across Becky's cute little melted snowmen biscuits and had to give them a go!
They were really easy to make, although a little time consuming due to the details, but if you make them in batches, you're good to go!!
If I decide to make some more before Christmas, I think I'll make my own gingerbread biscuits!

For this recipe, you will need...

Plain biscuits of your choice
Icing sugar
Marshmallows
Icing pens

Place a little bit of icing sugar on your biscuit to make sure your marshmallow stays in place. Cover the entire biscuit and marshmallow with icing. Once your icing has set, it's time to get creative and decorate your snowmen...

Let me know if you decide to make your own melted snowmen! I guarantee they'll be a huge hit!

A post swap

Photobucket
Photobucket

A while ago, both me and the lovely Sophie decided to do a post swap.
Unfortunately, I've been extremely busy lately and haven't really had the time to blog... I do feel rather ashamed.
Sophie sent me a yummy pack of jelly babies and a very bubbly chocolate Santa! She also sent the gorgeous nail transfers (which appeared in one of my recent blog posts) along with a very cute postcard which is now hanging up on my wall, and some other hand made goodies!

As promised, your package is in the post Sophie (and apologies for the huge delay!) I'm sending over some gorgeous Peris and Corr goodies as well as my hand knitted Peter Pan collar!

☆    ☆

On another note, apologies for the lack of blog posts lately. There really is no excuse, and I do intend to take my Canon on more days out with me so I can actually blog some more. I'm taking the week off work next week to spend some quality time with family, finishing off my Christmas shopping and seeing Mumford and Sons at Manchester (plus a quick visit to the Manchester Christmas Market. I'm so excited!)
I'm also intending on posting some Christmassy recipes, DIY makes and my easy knit mittens pattern... Keep your eyes peeled.

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend. Do you have any plans for this week?

Weekly Roundup

Photobucket
Photobucket

My weekend has been a very lovely and enjoyable one, with a little too much strawberry cider and honey Jack Daniel's...
I've started on my Christmas shopping, just about! I still have a lot to sort out, and I can't believe Christmas is a month today. I want my gifts to be really unique this year. There's a food and craft fair at Portmeirion next weekend which I think I'll go to. I love absorbing the Christmas spirit!

I have another little 'event' next weekend, my friend Lora is hosting an afternoon of Christmas shopping at her unit in Glynllifon with special discounts and offers. I'm going along to supply some freshly baked cakes, mince pies and a good old cup of tea! I'll be posting further information on here this week for anyone wanting to come along!

For the time being, that's all I have to show! I have some DIY Christmas wrapping ideas coming up soon, as well as baking posts and a post swap!
I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend.

Life Lately...

Yet again, life has been rather hectic! I decided to take a day off on Friday to spend a little time doing the things I love! I went on a rather small shopping trip to Beaumaris with my dad in search of some Christmas presents.
Friday evening was spent at the cinema watching Breaking Dawn Part 2 with two of my best friends. I really enjoyed it, although I think I'll have to go and see it a second time to give a full and honest opinion.
I got my hair done on Saturday - I'll have to post some decent photographs. You really can't see it in most of the photographs I took, but it's basically a combination of ash blonde / lilac! I'm really happy with it at the moment, I've been wanting to have a lilac tint for quite some time.

As for this week, I'm hoping to get a lot of Christmassy DIY / crafty stuff sorted. I'll make sure I post the photographs on here, although I'm limited to weekend photography at the moment due to it being very dark when I come home from work each day.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Are you up to much this week?

Weekly Roundup

This past week has been rather nice. My weekend was absolutely full to the brim, but very very lovely. On Friday, I went out for a lovely meal followed by a gig at a local pub.
Saturday was spent with Carla watching The Paper Cinema's Odyssey followed by a few drinks and a much needed catch up!

I spent yesterday in Beaumaris with Lora. I have a thing about towns near the sea, I just instantly fall in love with them. Aberystwyth is definitely on the list of beautiful seaside towns, I love the smell of seaweed, the fresh sea air and the beautiful shops filled with hand crafted goodness.
Beaumaris is absolutely lovely. Lora's been dog sitting for the past week, and so we spent the afternoon sipping tea out of vintage teacups at Beau's Tea Room, followed by a lovely stroll along the pier and some window shopping. Most shops were unfortunately closed, or I'd arrived there a bit late... I'm definitely going to plan another visit some time this week.

I've been meaning to start on my Christmas shopping, but in all honesty, after having a long chat with Lora, I'm going to support local produce and buy most of my Christmas gifts from the smaller shops and boutiques in the area. We also have many Christmas markets coming up, so I'll definitely be on the hunt for beautiful hand made presents!

It seems as though this week is going to be a busy one... I'm literally super excited to see Twilight on Friday, followed by a much needed hair appointment on Saturday...As well as trying to schedule in some retail therapy!

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend, are you up to anything interesting this week?
Oh, and another thing...I'm definitely going to re-decorate my bedroom. Well, when I say re-decorate, I mean re-accessorise! I can't wait for a fresh new start and lovely new things to look at.
I'll keep you all updated...

Rose Nail Decals

Last Saturday, I returned home rather late after a lovely day out in Chester to see a beautiful little package on the kitchen table. It was from the ever so lovely Sophie. We'd arranged a post swap (and although my pretty stressful and exhausting life at the moment, I promise I'll get yours posted soon!)
I'll write about the other little gifts in the package in another post, but I just had to show you these absolutely lovely nail decals she sent me!

I haven't been successful in applying nail transfers before. They always go wrinkly or look absolutely horrible. But these are really easy to apply. Once they're on your nail, they can be moved around before dabbing the excess water off. All you need to do then is apply a top coat nail polish, and you're done!

Anyway, on to today's plans...I'm off to see Lora and spend the afternoon in Beaumaris with her. I'm hoping the lovely tea room will be open so we can enjoy a slice of cake and a pot of tea. Life has indeed been rather emotionally exhausting lately, so thank you to all the faithful readers who have stuck by me through hard times!
I hope you've all had a very lovely week. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Life Lately Part 2

Life lately has been pretty full. I've been trying to do as much as possible over the past week.
Friday evening was spent at Dylan's - a restaurant I've been wanting to go to for a while. It was an overwhelmingly lovely meal out, I'd highly recommend it to absolutely anyone and everyone.
Saturday was a shopping day at Chester before heading over to the cinema to watch James Bond!

I can't wait for this weekend. I've just booked tickets to go and see The Paper Cinema's Odyssey followed by a few cocktails in town with one of my best friends!

I don't have much to share for the time being. I'm still trying to relax, enjoy myself and most importantly 'discover' myself again.
Before I fall asleep, I'd like to thank the lovely Sophie for my cute little package, and yours will be on the way soon, I promise!

Life Lately...

I realise I haven't posted on here for quite some time, and in all honesty, I haven't been feeling like 'myself' - whoever that is!
For all of you who happen to follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen that my almost three year relationship has come to an end. By choice. Now, I'm on the road to discovery...
I've spent an enormous amount of my time with friends over the past week, and it's been lovely. It's lovely to be able to catch up with friends you rarely get the chance to see. I have a couple of things coming up that I'm really looking forward to. One of them has to be a date with my two closest friends to see Breaking Dawn part two and the classic Pizza Hut evening! I'm also planning on a trip to Aberystwyth to do some Christmas shopping at one of my all time favourite shops!

Anyway, apologies for not being able to post much on here, and thank you for sticking by through tough times!

Nail Art

I've been meaning to post about nail art for quite some time, I just haven't got round to doing it!
I absolutely love nail art, and I really wanted to put a post together of my favourite nail art pics over the past few months.
In terms of experimentation, I haven't delved that deep so far. However, my absolute all time favourite has to be the leopard print. It's super easy, quick and fun to do. Every time I look down at my nails, I get that 'Ahh I love them!!' feeling...

These photographs are for you to enjoy and to hopefully inspire you a little. If you'd like me to make a video or blog post tutorial on any of the above, please let me know!

Weekly Roundup

This past week has been a very lovely week for me!
Unfortunately my orthodontist appointment (the big day!) had been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday. It was a very exciting day for me as I was getting my braces removed.
Thursday came, and luckily my appointment wasn't cancelled once more. I finally got them removed after a year and a half of constant orthodontic/dental treatments! I am so glad it's over and done with and I can finally smile with confidence. I've literally had so many comments both online and in person and it's left me so overwhelmed!

After my appointment in the morning of removing my braces and getting a cast/mould made of my mouth for retainers, I decided to go charity shopping with my dad. Something I miss incredibly...
Although we didn't have a lot of luck that day, I did manage to get myself a very cute wintery jumper, some balls of wool AND a very cute vintage teapot!

Yesterday was spent at Betws Y Coed with my boyfriend before a very quick stop at Llanrwst on the way back. I'd heard of a cute little tea room there (pictured above : the little house covered in leaves!)
I'd been wanting to pay a visit but unfortunately we didn't have enough time. We planned to go yesterday, but settled on a Costa instead! I'm hoping I can go at some point next weekend though!
I'm often thankful of the things I make my boyfriend do. I completely understand he's not the 'let's go grab a coffee and have a chat' type of person, in fact, he doesn't even like coffee, but does it anyway!

Anyway, this week, I really MUST get some things done! I still need to finish my second thrummed mitten. I also want to knit some more for my friends as Christmas presents (yes, I'm thinking of Christmas, because time will literally fly between Halloween and the 25th of December!) I also want to make use of the wool I got from the charity shop, possibly to make some fingerless gloves?
And I MUST MUST MUST post some more on here this week.
Oh, and a Halloween outfit must be sorted, as well as some little party recipes? What do you think?

My mind is literally all over the place!
I hope you've had a very nice weekend! Did you get up to anything interesting?

Blackberry Crumble

Last weekend, I went blackberry picking with my boyfriend. Our Saturday was a surprisingly warm and sunny one, and so, we decided to make the most of it.
My boyfriend had absolutely filled our container to the very top with blackberries, and as we returned home to wash them, we came to realise we had plenty more than expected...

As you can see, I didn't take many photos of it before it was all scoffed up...In fact, I made another one which my dad enjoyed with his daily dose of rice pudding. I love how old fashioned he is when it comes to his food and rather plain diet! If you were wondering about the recipe, here it is...

Ingredients

500g Bramley Apples
500g Blackberries
175g Demerara Sugar
Lemon juice
A sprinkle of cinnamon

For the topping

200g plain flour
175g butter
50g Demerara sugar
120g muesli

Peel, core and chop the apples up. Make sure your blackberries have been thoroughly washed too! Place in a saucepan with lemon juice and sugar. Put them on a medium heat until the sugar has mixed in nicely. Don't heat for too long - that's why they go in the oven!

Place your fruits in a pie dish.
Mix the plain flour, butter, sugar and muesli together to form a crumb like mixture. Pour your crumby mix on top of the fruits and bake in the oven for 45 minutes on 200 degrees.

And there you have it!

Enjoy

Weekly Roundup

Hand knitted Peter Pan Collar // Chow mein stir fry // Essie Tour de Finance
Full length OOTD photograph
Cath Kidston nail art // Hand knitted mittens // Tea in a teacup
Photographing flowers on the weekend

Another week has been and gone... I've enjoyed my evenings of knitting whilst watching the Great British Bake Off after work! I stupidly missed a couple of episodes of the series, so I'm catching up!
I managed to knit myself a Peter Pan collar which I can wear with some plain jumpers to add some detail. I've also knitted one mitten....I'm going to knit its other half either tonight or tomorrow.

Yesterday was spent blackberry picking with my boyfriend. The weather was absolutely lovely yesterday after a week of rain and thunderstorms, and we most definitely took advantage of it.
We returned home with a big container full of blackberries, ready to be washed and baked in a lovely crumble.
It sure was delicious...!
I'll be posting the recipe up here at some point this week. Although, I didn't manage to get many photographs before it had all gone.

Have you been up to anything interesting this weekend?

x

(Oh, and the photograph of me was a request from one of you a while back when I posted photos of my outfit at the wedding we were filming. Although I look rather angry, this is the only decent full length photo my boyfriend managed to get!)

Jewellery by Lora Wyn

I've recently been doing some more photography work for Lora
Her work has been featured on here a couple of times now, and even though she's a friend, she's an incredibly talented one and I absolutely love what she does.
Next month, we're both hoping to have an afternoon of (crafty) goodness at her unit in Glynllifon. If you live locally, I highly suggest you pop over! I won't announce the time/date just yet, but details will be up on here very soon.

The afternoon will consist of:

Freshly baked cakes
Plenty of tea (served in pretty vintage china!)
Purchasing Lora's jewellery (with an exclusive 20% off)
A knitting session with myself (with hopes of setting up a club!)
And lots lots more!

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely week! I will be off to see my boyfriend over the weekend, but have nothing major planned!
I hope you all have a very nice weekend.
Are you up to anything interesting?

Weekly Roundup : London Style

Natural History Museum
Wagamama dinner // Wine times // Amazing tea bus
Shrek The Musical
Gyozas (which I absolutely love) // The bf // Arrived at Euston
Amazing graffiti artists

If you haven't noticed, I've been away in London for the past few days with my boyfriend. We had a really lovely time away, but I'm in desperate need of catching up with some sleep! London has such a fast paced lifestyle, it seems like I need another week just to recover from it!
Despite the tiredness, it was all worth it!
We had a lovely time at the Natural History Museum on Wednesday afternoon to see the dinosaurs which we sadly missed last time we were down in London due to the section being closed... Thursday was spent shopping, followed by Shrek The Musical. We're both big fans of Shrek, but were left disappointed when they didn't sing any of the songs from the film until the very last one! However, we both really enjoyed it!
Friday was our last day in London, and so we spent the day sight seeing around London, followed by a very lovely meal out at Wagamama's, discovering a love for chicken gyozas...

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend.
I'm off to bed to catch up on some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's
