Slate Museum

Today, me and my dad went for a lovely trip to the Slate Museum in Llanberis! We only live five minutes away from it, and it's somewhere we never think of visiting due to the fact it's SO CLOSE!
I've been there a couple of times during my childhood, but re-visiting somewhere when you're a bit more grown up is always nice!
I had been looking forward to visit the old quarry hospital but unfortunately it was closed today (sad times indeed!) They have all types of extremely old medical instruments they used on the quarry men on show, plus you get to see what the hospital looked like a hundred years ago! It's extremely fascinating (although I can't stand anything medical or clinical in any way!)

Anyway, we had a lovely afternoon!
Admission to the Slate Museum is free although parking does cost £4! We went for the cheaper option by parking in the village and walked to the museum!

Have you ever been there?
It's extremely strange to think this was a working slate quarry a hundred years ago! This unfortunately was the life of so many men in the area, I know I would've absolutely hated it! Despite this, what they did was highly skilful and required a lot of dedication!

Scrabble DIY

This is one of my recent DIY attempts in order to make my bedroom a little bit more fascinating!
My room is always messy, no matter how often I tidy up... I blame it all on work and the fact that I usually rush about in the morning and throw most of my clothes on the floor in search of something!

The scrabble tiles are actually off my grandmother. She gave me a very old scrabble board and letters many years ago, and due to the fact there were many spares in the set, I decided to put some of them to use!
I really love typography and letters due to the fact I studied graphics, and due to being a bit of a computer geek!

For this particular DIY, you will need:

★ White card
★ Strong glue
★ A darker or coloured card for the mount
★ Scrabble tiles
★ Photo frame

Good luck and happy DIY-ing!

Weekly Roundup (In Instagram!)

Last weekend I went to visit my boyfriend on the train, and oh my gosh did I have a nightmare journey back home! I reached Chester after chances of delays on the way (but it was all fine in the end) I had 40 minutes to spare, so I went for a drink, sat down, relaxed, ten minutes to go and I headed towards the right platform only to realise my train to Bangor had been cancelled....
Something had happened to the train line between Rhyl and Chester and so they stuffed us in taxis all the way to Rhyl (and so I was sharing a 7 seater taxi with random people, very funny times indeed!) Even though I had a lovely weekend, I couldn't wait to get back home after that incident! Next weekend I'm going to see him with my car!!

So this week has once again been and gone! I've been working hard as usual (and done my back in- ouchie!) Yesterday we had incredibly lovely weather (23 degrees in fact) so me and my dad spent a lovely day having lunch out in Caernarfon, then moved on for a lovely walk and ice cream at Criccieth!
I received a lovely gift from DyfalDonc through the post too (those adorable little heart earrings!)
I also got my new glasses!

I didn't manage to go to the antiques shops like I was hoping, but me and Lora are going to try and go together and make a lovely day out of it!
I haven't got much planned for next week other than visiting the boyfriend over the weekend!

I hope you've all had a really lovely week and weekend!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

She's The New Girl

We've all fallen in love with her, she's the cutest lady around, she's funny, quirky, and quite frankly has the most amazing wardrobe ever! What's NOT to love about her?!
Watching New Girl is literally the highlight of my week (it goes to show my social life is non existent!)
Jess has an extremely bright wardrobe, combining all different types of prints and patterns! If you're not as 'adventurous' as Jess, I have a few suggestions below for you on how to achieve the look on a more subtle palette.
I'm definitely in love with the Topshop sparkle dress and those bow shoes by Melissa...
(I can't wait for my Vivienne Westwood for Melissa shoes to arrive...!!)

Anyway ladies as always, I hope you've all had a very lovely week!
Are you up to anything exciting over the weekend?

Photography Work : Janglerins

Recently, I've been working as a photographer for many local artists. I'm absolutely in love with photography, I photograph anything and everything! These above are recent photographs I took for Janglerins.
Elin 'Janglerins' makes absolutely beautiful silver jewellery, and it was a great pleasure to take these photographs for her!

Below, are some more examples of previous photography work I have done in the past. I'd really like to focus on it more and develop my 'portfolio' of photographs. If you are an artist/maker and would like your work to be photographed, then please get in touch. Or alternatively, if you want anything else photographed, email me at :
I am willing to take anything on board!
(Animals, children, events, special occasions etc)
Currently, I am able to travel all the way between North Wales and Yorkshire (due to boyfriend visits) Anywhere in between can be visited, or if you're local here in North Wales, give me a shout! Fuel costs, photography work and any prints needed / personalised items (mugs, cushions, bags etc) or photo books will be included in the final price.

Weekly Roundup

This week has gone by just like any other. Work hours have been taking over my personal life as usual, and I haven't had much time to myself!
I've been spending more time outdoors, and have gone for a very long walk almost every day after work this week which has been really lovely and relaxing. I also received a very lovely package through the post from Lily Loves Lola, this extremely adorable bunny bracelet! I also bought an extremely cute and very warm jumper whilst I've been visiting my boyfriend over this weekend! I also got some cute bargains in the sale! (Now I must stop spending, I desperately need to save up!)
Food wise, I've become even more obsessed with my favourite drink (Strawberry Ribena!) In fact, I love almost anything strawberry in general! Both me and my boyfriend enjoyed a very lovely lunch out yesterday too! Next week I must try some recipes from the new vegetarian cookbook I bought! I also want to bake some more for my dad (he absolutely loves cake!)
Next week I'm also intending on blogging about some DIY creations, and I want to go to a few local antique shops to search for cute things to decorate my bedroom with (as if I don't have enough already, but I can't stop myself!)

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Interior Inspiration

All images sourced via

Ever since turning 23 (yes, I know it was less than two weeks ago...!) I've been dreaming of having my own place so much! I'd love to live in my own house, filled with all the quirky little things I love to collect! My bedroom is starting to get a little crammed with all the stuff I can't say no to at charity shops!

Me and my boyfriend both have high hopes of getting our own house in the very near future, and it's something I'm getting really REALLY excited about!
I've seen a lot of bloggers mention their new house lately, so if you're one of them please please share your experiences or any photographs you have of your new home!

For the time being, I will share some interior design inspiration via Design Sponge (one of my favourite sites of all time!) I absolutely love quirky interior design combined with vintage or second hand furniture and items around the house!
In the next few weeks I'm also going to be sharing some pretty crafty DIY things to make, from chalkboard plant pots to scrabble art!
Anyway, I've had a very busy / hard working week, and I'm off to see the bf this weekend (and this is a little scheduled post I have lined up!) Will keep you updated with some week in instagram photos of what I've been up to!

Hope you've had a wonderful week!

Our Colourful Day Out!

Last week, me and my dad took advantage of the lovely sunshine (before it absolutely poured down with rain and sleet) and took an afternoon trip to Portmeirion.
Portmeirion is described as an Italian tourist village, roughly based upon Portofino.
Portmeirion was also used in the tv series 'The Prisoner' (ask your parents - or youtube it!) If you happen to be a fan, you should definitely pay a visit! The village itself is exactly the same as it appears in the show.

We were lucky enough to know about a voucher which allowed entrance for £1 each per adult instead of the usual £9 entrance fee (which we both thought was a bit expensive...!) This voucher is valid until the 31st of March and can be downloaded here. I believe this offer is ongoing every winter, so if you'd rather wait and save yourself some money, it's a very good offer! If you're a family and have children, they can also go in for free with this voucher!
You could easily spend an afternoon here, although we only spent a couple of hours, it was definitely a flying visit! We took a walk around the village, sipped extremely hot latte's (the little robin wanted in too) and enjoyed the very little sunshine we had all week!

Have you ever been to Portmeirion? What do you think?

Weekly Roundup (In Instagram!)

Lesson from the bf / Birthday present off my brother / This is where I work... / Crafty DIY sessions / An Italian village / New cookbook / Menai Bridge / I love these flowers / Aroma diffuser which I'm loving at the moment / Beach times again / Birthday cake / Thank you gifts / Happy cows for daddy's birthday / Tea break / Bedroom wall makeover

This week, I've tried to cram as many things in as possible, although I could've done a lot more! I felt as if my blogging has been a little bit better this week by tactically scheduling posts I want to share with you throughout the week!
Other than working, this week has been spent sorting out my bedroom and creating some craft pieces to hang up on the wall! I've also enjoyed afternoons walking along the beach after work (due to the fact I work at Dinas Dinlle!) This is something I should do more often - usually I drive home after a rather annoying day at work, but from now on, I think I'll take a walk along the beach to clear my head (there's nothing better than refreshing sea air and the calming sounds of the waves!)
This week, I've also spent a little day out with my dad which has become a very rare event at the moment due to other things taking over my life!! We went to Portmeirion which is a little Italian inspired village near Porthmadog! (I will have a blog post coming up about it sometime this week!) And also enjoying a few tea breaks here and there using my bone china teacup and the cutest milk jug in the world! (Both extremely lucky charity shop finds!)

Next week, I don't really know what I'm up to! I've got a few photography projects coming up, so that will be really exciting for me! I'll make sure I share with you!
I'm also hoping that my Wednesday off will still be a day off so I can go out somewhere for the day! This is usually the highlight of my week! I also have some DIY crafty projects on the go which I want to share with you too! Oh, and before I forget...I'm working on a little video! I've been filming a tiny bit with my iphone last week and I'm trying to collect all the clips together and turn it into 'my week in film!'

Anyway, I hope you've all had a really lovely week and a nice weekend!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Made By Zen

Enso White / Made By Zen

On a shopping trip at Meadowhall last Saturday, I noticed this peculiar device which I had never even seen or heard of before. This is an aroma diffuser from Made By Zen. I stepped into a shop full of hand carved wooden photo frames, incense sticks, oil burners, and these little devices!
This one was purchased for £39.99, the cheapest they had were £34.99 and the most expensive at £59.99 which also included an alarm clock at the bottom!

These aroma diffusers have a lot of 'science' behind them, and this is what they claim:

★ They have 5 in 1 functions - aroma diffuser, mini humidifier, air purifier, ionizer and a small night light
★ Advanced ultrasonic technology which produces vibrations at a frequency of 2 million times per second without using heat.
★ Releases tiny droplets of water vapour which is highly beneficial for our skin and general well being and has been known to provide relief for symptoms of respiratory problems.
★ Improve air quality and prevents damage from second hand smoke, stale air and allergens.
★ It functions as an ioniser by releasing negative ions into the air (known as “air vitamins”) which combat harmful positive ions.  This provides many health benefits e.g. improves breathing, strengthens the immune system, etc.

The diffuser is very easy to use. You simply unscrew the top, fill the base with water up to the maximum line (along with a couple of drops of your favourite essential / fragrance oil) place the top half back on and then switch the on button! It's as easy as that!

I've been using my diffuser for a couple of days now, and I can honestly say I am very happy with it! It definitely seems to purify the air around you, it makes it easier to breathe whilst releasing fragrance as opposed to using oil burners! It gives a soft light which is great for night time or perfect for the 'just before bed' time - and lavender oil is perfect if you're having trouble sleeping! I've actually been filling mine up half way and putting it on before I go to sleep (it does make a little noise, but you soon get used to it)
The diffuser lasts a very long time from filling it up right to the maximum level - approximate guide of 4-5 hours! Another good feature is it's automatic shut off when the water reaches a low level (the light also turns off during this point)

All in all, I think it's a very good alternative to using oil burners (even though I'm a big fan of oil burners, I think I've been converted) and if you do happen to leave it on over night, it's not as dangerous as forgetting to blow a candle out before bed time!
Have you ever tried an aroma diffuser before? What do you think?

A few days ago, I got tagged to answer these 11 questions! I've noticed I share a lot of what I've been up to on here, but in general I haven't really said much about myself....So here we go!!

What was the first album you bought?
I remember one of the first albums I bought was by Aqua. I used to be obsessed with Barbie Girl for absolutely ages! I'm not sure if this was the first ever album I bought, but it was definitely one of them!

Where do you buy most of your clothes from?
I can't really answer this one. There's no where I specifically buy my clothes from! If I see something I like, no matter where it's from, then I'll buy it! (As long as it's affordable for me!) I've really been loving Lavish Alice lately, I bought my birthday dress off their website and I'm literally obsessed with it. In general, I really love shopping at H&M although I find it a real hit and miss! Otherwise I try and find some lovely bargains at local charity shops!

Where did you go on your last holiday?
My last holiday was in London...Although it wasn't really a 'holiday' it was more of a weekend away! I really love going to London! Me and my boyfriend had a lovely time together, we went to the Doctor Who Experience (since I'm a big fan) and I saw Lion King at the theatre for the..... 4th time?! I love that show! The previous year, we went to Paris for three days. I really love Paris, and I'm really hoping to go back there again very soon!!

Whats your favourite smell?
I have so many favourite smells! One of my favourites is the smell of freshly baked bread! I go weak at the knees! This explains my love for bakeries! I also really like the smell of lavender, I find it extremely relaxing!
Many people really hate the smell of sea weed, but I love it, it reminds me that I'm close to the sea which is one of my favourite places to visit!

If you could own your own business what would you do?
When I was little, I used to want to be a baker! I used to fantasise about opening a bakery with my mum! If I could own my own bakery, I guess I would! Otherwise I always wanted to be a florist, it would have to be one or the other!

What was the last film you saw at the cinema?
I think the last film I saw at the cinema was Puss In Boots? Either that or Sherlock Holmes, I can't really remember!!

Facebook or twitter?
Despite the fact I really love Twitter, I'm going to have to go with the old faithful Facebook!

If you could change one thing about your appearance what would it be?
This is actually something I haven't talked about much, the reason being that I'm so self conscious about it... I really hate(d) my smile. I've been through hell and back (or so it seems) to get a smile I've always wanted. I'm slowly getting there, and I have 9 more months of orthodontic nightmares to go!

Your favourite thing about your appearance?
I've always liked my height and size. I'm only 5'2'' ish and I've always been a size 6/8. I love being petite, although sometimes people look down at you, assume you're younger than you are or speak to you in a rather patronising tone because of your height! This is one of my biggest hates!

Your staple colour nail varnish?
I don't think I have a staple colour varnish! A few years ago I would've definitely said black! I used to wear black nail polish all the time. I think now I've grown fond of pastel polishes. My favourites are Models Own and Barry M! I'm also really into my glitter nail varnish, I use Juicy Jules by Models Own and Carnival by Technic!

What would you like to be doing in 10 years time?
I'd like to be living a happy life, that's for sure! I hope by then I will have my own house and my own family, that's more than I could ever wish for! And about my own bakery? Hmm... I'll keep on dreaming about that one!

So here are my questions for you....

If you could eat one type of food for a month, what would you choose / What was your first ever pet / If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go to / What did you want to be when you grew up / What was your first childhood memory / If you could be a superhero for a day, what super powers would you like to have / If you could change one thing about your past, what would you change / What's your favourite film of all time / If you could choose one activity to do before you die, what would it be / Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years time / What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done

So those are my questions....I'd like to tag...

Good luck ladies!

Weekly Roundup (In Instagram!)

This last week has been very lovely, and less stressful than the previous one! I've enjoyed days out in between my working hours, and my boyfriend came home over last weekend until Tuesday. It's always nice when my boyfriend is back home, I miss having him there!

Drinking very yummy Clippers Tea!
Receiving lots of lovely birthday gifts.
