Tutorial Tuesday : Pebble Plant Markers

Since my time has been limited over the past few days, this will be my Tutorial Tuesday for this week!
Yesterday, I created this pebble herb marker to put in my lavender pot! They're coming along nicely now due to the warm weather we've been receiving.

For this project, you will need:

A large pebble
Paint (I used white acrylic and black gloss)
Pencil or pen to mark

It's as simple as that! First of all, I painted the entire top half of the pebble with white acrylic paint. Once dried, I marked out my letters with a pencil. (To get a little inspiration, I looked on DaFont which is great! Obviously my font on the pebble is wonky, or as I like to call 'handmade')
Once you've marked your letters, you can paint around it, or inside it with any colour paint you wish. I made sure I had a very small brush to do this job.

Leave your pebble out in the sun to dry and within a couple of hours, it'll be sitting in your plant pots!

Have fun.

Another Late Weekly Roundup!

As you've all experienced I'm sure, we've had extremely hot weather for the past week or so now! It does get a bit depressing when you're sat in an office all week. It makes you long for the evenings and weekends (which can be a very good thing!)
Me and my boyfriend enjoyed (or rather suffered in) the heat this weekend by spending it walking along the pier in Llandudno, which is extremely beautiful although over crowded by visitors!
I also want to spend more time doing little crafty bits and bobs...I have a photographed Tutorial Tuesday coming up for tomorrow which is to do with craft + gardening...My two favourite things at the moment!

Other than that, I don't have many interesting things to share this week other than the beautiful photos I was able to capture in the summer sun. If you're fortunate to be having a long weekend this week, I hope you all have a good one! What are you up to?

In two weeks time or so, I'll be taking some time off hopefully to take my boyfriend to hand in his uni work. We were going to spend the weekend away, enjoying the sights we no longer get to see - Meadowhall, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Ikea....and so on!!

Anyway, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and are continuing to enjoy the sun (protected of course)

Gardening Is Good For The Soul

These days, it's not often I get time to do whatever I want...Apart from the weekends which seem to fly by!
However, this afternoon I took a trip to our local garden centre. I always absolutely love going to garden centres although I don't consider myself much of a gardener at the moment (I'm hoping to develop this, definitely over the next few years at least!) Our garden at the moment has so much potential being just under an acre , although we don't do much with it. I've convinced my dad to sort out the little patch we have under our living room window which was full of overgrown weeds! It's definitely a nice project for both of us to do together.

I've also been wanting to plant some lavender outside, in hope that when I get a house of my own, I can take these with me to form a border around the garden! We'll have to see about that....All depending on how well they grow!

I had been eyeing up this lavender plant for quite a while, and it has the most amazing, strong fragrance. I hope to take the flowers off soon, if you do so, they might flower again this summer. I'd like to dry the flowers or get some oil out of them! I'll let you know of my progress.

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely (and hopefully sunny) week.

A Late Weekly Roundup

Eggs for sale // This is my favourite ring // Gorgeous walk in the forest
Cute vintage junk shop // Fell in love with these jeans again // Drew on teapots
Went on a social media course // Ate lots of noodles // Chased some hens

How can I sum up last week? I don't really know how to...!
Week by week, they just seem to fly by.

It's the weekends I look forward to the most, and I generally dedicate those to spend time with my boyfriend. In fact, this weekend, we had a really lovely time. It goes to show you can have fun without having to spend a penny (which is what we're trying to do at the moment!)

Saving the pennies is a definite must for both of us. He really needs to find a job once all his uni work has been finished, and I really need to save up in general! We're both really keen on moving on, and it's important for both of us to get a place of our own so we can have a little bit of freedom in our lives!

Anyway, this weekend we took a lovely walk along his village. I had no idea how beautiful it was! The walk along the woods was stunning, and I definitely want to go back there next weekend! We also noticed a lot of people keep hens in the village! I'm actually a huge fan of hens, and if I had a little freedom, I'd be keeping some by now! But unfortunately, my dad has a strict no animals rule at the moment...! Anyway, my boyfriend seemed to share the same passion, I think they won him over when he started chasing them and saw how funny it was....! So we're definitely looking into buying some hens when we have our own place! And similar to that little free range eggs sign, I hope we'll have something like that up outside our house one day!
I've even set myself a challenge really. I want to be able to build a chicken coop on a budget! I'm searching for some found materials or stuff that has been given to me in order to build one! Of course, I have plenty of time, so I'm hoping I'll have enough materials!

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend!
I feel a bit out of it at the moment in terms of blogging due to lack of time. I need to get back on it this week with a few projects!

Tutorial Tuesday : Gift Box

This week's tutorial is a gift box I made for a friend. I used a 40x30cm shape in order to achieve this box (with each side being 10x10)
By making a paper flower for the lid, it came together beautifully.
You could also create a paper bow, or anything you fancy!!

For this project you will need:

Thick card
Glue
Scissors
Ruler
Tissue paper or bubble wrap
Gifts or treats to fill your box

Have fun!!

Weekly Roundup : Wedding Style

This last week has been rather busy... Of course, yesterday, it was Emma's wedding and I was incredibly excited!
Me and my boyfriend were also photographing / filming the wedding.

(I'll share some more pictures and some clips with you soon!)

So, apologies if you don't like weddings (I don't know why not?!) But this weekly roundup is photographs of me and my boyfriend at the wedding, what I wore, the decoration and details!
I wish I had a wedding to plan now! Why does everything wedding related have to be so gorgeous? I literally cannot wait for my own wedding (one day...!) I'm going to make the little wedding favours myself so they're all individually made! I'd want it to be really cute and unique, but set in a really beautiful location with stunning gardens.....A girl can dream!

Anyway, have you been to a wedding or are you married? Have you got any ideas where you'd get married and all the little details?

Now I truly understand why girls are obsessed with weddings....!

My April Movie

Last month, I made a 'March Movie' and really enjoyed it. I think it's a nice way just to summarise what I've been up to and where I've been through my iPhone video clips. I must admit, I don't film or photograph half as much as I should with it, and that's definitely something I want to develop!

Let me know what you think of this one, and would you like to see more of them in the future?

Have a lovely day!

Weekly Roundup

Tomato seeds in an envelope // Cafe in Betws Y Coed // Fair at Llandudno
Fortune cookie // Fair time // DIY envelope tutorial up soon
Saturday's accessories // Train station // Magic man
This kitty loves me // Hand made candles // Necklace by Lora Wyn

This last week has been rather nice despite the silly weather! I've been doing a couple of crafty activities after work which is always a plus in my books! I've also been filming some more Tuesday Tutorials and been editing my April Movie which will be posted on here this week!
I keep forgetting it's been a long weekend! On Saturday we went to a Victorian Fair in Llandudno and had really nice weather for a change! Yesterday me and my boyfriend went to Betws Y Coed for a walk along the river (in cold and wet weather...!!)

Next weekend my friend is getting married. I can't believe it... It doesn't seem that long ago we were both saying 'It's only a year away!' Now, it's five days away....

I need to get my fake tanning regime on the go (I hate revealing my pasty arms and legs otherwise!) I need to get a couple of things sorted in terms of photography arrangement (Eeek, this is quite scary now! But I'm really looking forward to it also) Plus, I need to try on my entire outfit and decide on some hair and makeup ideas. I'll try and share what I've decided on with you. I'm also intending on filming a bit with my iPhone and Instagramming for all of you to see some behind the scenes stuff at the wedding!

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely bank holiday weekend.
If you have any hair and makeup ideas, or tutorials that you've filmed, please let me know!

I hope you all have a lovely day

I Like Ladybird Likes

It's so rare for me to blog more than twice a week now (which is rather shocking really....I definitely need to get some posts scheduled for the week. Huge apologies!)
Anyway,  I contacted the absolutely lovely Zoe (Ladybird Likes) a while ago as I'm going to a wedding (in 9 days would you believe? It's come so quick - and I'm the photographer too! Nervous) I wanted a really quirky statement necklace to wear, as I can be big on BIG jewellery.
I emailed Zoe and got a very quick response, as usual! I sent her a quick image I had made using photoshop to illustrate what I wanted. A couple of emails later, and she was already telling me the necklace was finished and would be sent out soon!

When I received my necklace, I was over the moon! It was just how I imagined it to be! I haven't yet tried it with the dress I'm going to wear, but hopefully it'll look great!

If you're looking for an unique gift, or a custom made piece, Zoe is absolutely fantastic! I genuinely miss our email chats, and the crazy ones I used to receive at 2am when she'd finally finished work for the day! Craaaaazy stuff...!

I'll keep you posted in terms of what I'll be wearing on the day, maybe take some quick snaps of my hair too and of course the necklace!

Anyway, I hope you're all having a very lovely week and enjoy your long bank holiday weekends!
I'm off to a fair over the weekend (weather permitting!)

Tutorial Tuesday : Nail Art

Since I'm trying to post one tutorial a week (Tutorial Tuesday in fact!) This is what I came up with this week!
In fact, this is a bit of a different take on using a nail art pen. My absolutely amazing Models Own nail art pen (which I absolutely fell in love with) decided to clog up a while ago. I tried everything to rescue it, but unfortunately, nothing seemed to work - and I never purchased a new one.

Anyway, I cleaned my old eye liner, dipped it in some nail polish and used it as a nail art brush. Great idea if you're on a budget and want to make use of things you have around the house!
I've also used an old knitting needle to do some nail art too. Whatever you find the easiest to use.

So I hope you enjoy this very quick tutorial!
