Denim Dress

Dress : Motel // Belt : H&M // Ring : Gift from a friend
Nails : Models Own Snow White & Juicy Jules
Technic Carnival

So this is my first 'serious' outfit of the day post! I really hope you like it.
If you follow me on Twitter (@FionaFach) you will have noticed I'm trying to give my blog a slight change and include some more fashion and beauty based posts as well as my usual crafty goings on! I've started blogging almost a year ago now, and I've felt it needs changing for quite some time. Don't worry, I'll still be rambling on about knitting and baking... !
Let me know what you think, if you'd like to see more of these outfit posts...Or not! I haven't had much confidence in the past to post my face up here - So don't be too harsh on me!

I'm not sure about daily outfit posts at the moment as I can be a very busy lady at times... (Hence the shocking 9 posts per month... I'm ashamed!) But I will try to post a few outfits per week!

Weekly Roundup

I hope you've all had a very enjoyable week / weekend! I've mostly been spending my spare time knitting some more innocent hats, as well as spending some time catching up with friends. I've recently decided to give my blog a little makeover, so within the next few weeks expect a few subtle changes here and there.
Social media buttons have been added onto my blog posts so you can follow me on Twitter, Pinterest and Flickr (although I haven't uploaded anything there yet!) I also want to include some more fashion and beauty posts which will kick in this week. I've scheduled my first ever 'serious' outfit post for this Tuesday, so keep your eyes peeled for that! My blog has been somewhat neglected recently, and I want to thank every single little follower for sticking around! Thank you, you're truly wonderful! I was pretty sure I had posted something else this week, but by the looks of it, I hadn't...
Well anyway, not to worry. My aim is to have a couple of outfit posts per week as well as my usual crafty / baking goings on!

Let me know what you think of my 'slight' changes!
I hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening.

Weekly Roundup

Night time // Skinny cappuccino time // Cath Kidston time
Enjoying my new mug // My lovely boyfriend // Knitted Innocent hats
Thank you Innocent // Cath Kidston on tour // Yummy raspberries
My inspiration // Time to celebrate next week // My crafty bits and bobs

This past week has been a rather nice and colourful one! I've been enjoying some craft based activities after work in the evenings... My current obsession is knitting Innocent hats! I've knitted around 5 or 6 all together, but I obviously want to make as many as possible. (I'm also going to make some for myself as egg cosies!)
Innocent very kindly admired my photo I posted on their wall of my little hats...!

As the weather has stayed sunny over the weekend, I've enjoyed spending some time outside with my boyfriend. I can't wait for next weekend though, he's hoping to get his university results soon - and so I have some celebration ideas in mind...Shhhh, don't say a word!!

Well, that's it for this week. I've got a few things in mind for this next week as mentioned. I'm also going to bake a little bit more this week, as well as making my own apricot jam.... I'm hoping to blog about it so you can follow along with the recipe!
Have you been up to anything interesting this past week? And most importantly, did you all have a lovely weekend?

Big Knit Strawberry

Following the Innocent strawberry hat pattern, I decided to make a felted version!
This is not so much a tutorial, but just a video documenting how I went about it... If you'd like to follow along, you're more than welcome to try!
The wool I used was 'Wash + Filz - It' - And this type of felting wool shrinks about 30% I'd say, depending on how long you felt for.

I left my strawberry to dry for a day or so and it's now sitting proudly in my slowly increasing pile of Innocent hats...

Have you been knitting any this year?

Weekly Roundup

Felted innocent hats (pattern to follow) // Vintage tea cup // CK love
Future project // Flowers for mum // Painted jars
CK shop // Adain Avion // Need this in my life
I love my tea collection // Me // Inside my pretty mug

I've had a rather nice week in fact... I don't seem to do much in the evenings, but I deliberately made a point of getting lots and lots done last week! I knitted some more innocent hats, but this time with felting wool. I absolutely adore the way they turned out once they were felted, and I actually have a mini video tutorial to edit so I can show you!!

This week, I've mainly been obsessing over tea cups, tea sets or anything tea related in general! I've (even more so recently) discovered a love for all things Cath Kidston. I loved the prints anyway, but when I discovered the kitchen ware, I fell in love...
The Cath Kidston tea cup with the 'Provence Rose' print is my absolute favourite, but unfortunately, everywhere I look it's out of stock!! I feel like I desperately need this tea set in my life...

On the bright side, I went to Chester yesterday with my boyfriend and spent a lovely afternoon there! Their Cath Kidston store is super cute (although a little small for a huge lover like me...) But it was serious eye candy! Although I was unable to find those gorgeous tea cups, I DID buy it in mug form, which will keep me happy for the time being!

I hope you've all had a very lovely week!
Are you up to anything fun this week?

Big Knit : Strawberry Hat

Last year, I actually missed out on the whole 'Big Knit' event! I noticed somewhere online that Boots were selling innocent smoothies with little hats (but of course, when I went down to my local stores, they were all sold out!) Sad times indeed....
Anyway, this year, I'll definitely be sending some of my little hats as well as buying a few!
I've started off with this cute little strawberry pattern. It's very simple and fast to knit. Sometime this week I'm going to knit some with felting wool (I can't wait to see what they look like felted! I'm hoping they'll be super adorable!) For every few innocent hats I knit, I also want to knit myself some, but as egg cosies!
I'll let you know how the felting turns out some time this week, but for the time being this is the pattern I used!

If you decide to knit some, let me know how they turn out!!

A New Weekly Roundup

Wednesday, 4 July 2012

I've been a little bit obsessed with strawberries over the past few days (as you can tell by the post!)
On Monday evening, I made some very lovely strawberry jam with my brother, who's equally into making it as I am! We both tried it out yesterday, and I can announce that it's the loveliest strawberry jam I've tasted, probably ever, and it will be very gladly accepted on my piece of toast!

I then went on to make some little strawberry innocent hats for their 'Big Knit' 2012 campaign where little innocent smoothie bottles will proudly wear hats in order to raise money for Age UK. Last year, I was a little late, in fact I didn't know about it until I saw other people blogging about them or Facebook-ing photographs of their hats! This year, I'm getting in on the action a little sooner as I plan to knit quite a few of these little bad boys! (I'll be sharing my photos and patterns with you - don't worry!!)

Anyway, that's all for now! I hope you're having a lovely week - and guess what?! We're half way through the working week!

Weekly Roundup

A dream house // Homemade soup // Vintage cornishware
Ombre nails // Homemade bread // Vintage, vintage, vintage
Do you really need that many watering cans?!
Fell in love with this bad boy // Open // Cross stitching the night away

I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves a bit more this week. It's been a very long week somehow with an even stranger weekend...
Unfortunately my boyfriend has been ill with a very yucky infection on his face which left him in rather a lot of pain (As I'm sure he'll be reading this at some point or another - get well soon sweetie!) We were unable to do much on the weekend, and in all honesty, I just wanted to look after him and make sure he got better. However, we did manage to take a quick trip to one of my favourite shops ever - This super cute antiques shop in Penmaenmawr!

If you ever get the chance to go, please do. It's well worth a trip - even more so now they've added an extra shed at the back with more treats in store! Some items are not that cheap, and if you're looking for a bargain, then you're probably visiting the wrong shop! But, if like me, you like to have a look, get inspired and maybe likely to purchase that one special item (or have lots and lots of money to spend on quirky antiques - I wish!!) Then this is definitely the place for you...!

Anyway, this week I'm hoping to get lots and lots of lovely things done! I've heard about Innocent Smoothies and their Big Knit campaign which is starting again soon - I'll talk about that in another post, but I'll be sharing my patterns and ideas with you about that!
I'm also making jam this week with my brother which I'll post about another day!
And, I'm going to an art exhibition opening this week which gives me the chance to dress up a little bit and do something special.

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely Monday despite the horrible weather...
