August Empties

001
17 Blemish Balm in light
I've almost completely ran out of this, and decided to take a picture before I slice it open! A couple of months ago, my skin used to be much clearer, and I used this instead of foundation when I was in a rush, or for lazier days! Now, I use it more as a base for my Estee Lauder double wear light foundation.  If you have blemish prone skin like mine, it doesn't give much coverage at all. If you're lucky enough to have clear skin, this is a perfect alternative if you can't be bothered wearing a heavy foundation. It has a lovely shimmer to it and is very easy to apply. However, I don't think I'll purchase this again, all due to my terrible skin at the moment!

002
Bourjois Re-boosting Foundation
I've had this foundation for quite a while now. I was looking for a new foundation, and grabbed this in hope it would make my skin look fresh and plumped! I won't be purchasing it again unfortunately. I usually love Bourjois, but for the price tag, it was rather disappointing, and doesn't seem to stay on my face long!

003
Primark Beauty 4 in 1 gentle facial cleansing wipes
Yes, it took my makeup off, but when it came to hard waterproof mascara things got a little tough! These wipes seemed drier than others. I usually buy two packs of wipes for £1 at Home Bargains, and they do the job a lot better than these! As they were a last minute purchase because I was in desperate need of something to take my makeup off, I won't be buying them again in a hurry!

004
VO5 Miracle Mist
I always always use this on my wet hair before blow drying or styling. It smells really nice, it's easy to apply (of course!) and it does actually give you rather soft hair.
Previously, I've used the Andew Collinge heat protection spray, which I really loved. But this one is just as nice, well, nice enough to buy a second bottle! The only down side is the fact it can make my hair feel rather greasy quicker than usual. Because I don't want to over wash and style my hair, I use Tresemme dry shampoo on the second day!

005
VO5 Nourish Me Truly
This used to be the shampoo I used all the time. It was often on offer wherever I went, which is always a plus! I love the smell of this shampoo, it did leave my hair rather soft. However, my hair got used to this shampoo, and by the end it got greasy quickly. I've now been advised by my hairdresser to invest in salon quality shampoos and conditioners which I briefly mentioned a while ago! I'll be letting you know how I've got on with them soon.

006
Sebastian Hydre Shampoo
This was one of the salon quality shampoos I tried out. It made my hair feel a little bit better than high street products. It was stronger, and designed for giving your hair a moisture boost. I went through two bottles before switching to the Wella SP range as it was just not quite strong enough for me. My hair needs a lot of moisture due to dye and heat styling...
Also, if you're using it alone without the matching conditioner, you can't really see the effect it has on your hair. I happened to use it along with the conditioner, but again, the products weren't quite strong enough to give me the amount of moisture I needed back in my hair.

007
Amor Amor by Cacharel
This is one of my absolute favourite perfumes! This one in particular was a Christmas gift in a box along with some body lotion! It's such a lovely perfume and very fruity. It's one of those perfumes I'll keep on buying for years to come, or just ask Santa for each year! If you're really into your fruity, feminine perfumes and you haven't tried this one out yet, I highly recommend you do!

Weekly Roundup

Llandudno Pier
Cappuccino break // A toy that's bigger than me // Swimming gear
The Great Orme, Llandudno
Cable cars // Windswept // Heather

This past week has been a rather nice one! I enjoyed a slightly longer weekend due to the bank holiday which is always nice.
On Saturday, I went to take some photographs with my boyfriend up the Great Orme in Llandudno. If you haven't been, it's a truly breathtaking place to go. Unfortunately for us, it was windy, raining, and slightly foggy up there.... That's me in my rain coat trying to avoid the wind with my camera!
Sunday was a much nicer day, and so we decided to go on the cable cars after failing to go on them (twice!) It was definitely a case of third time lucky, although maybe not so lucky when we found out we had to queue the other side - for ANOTHER hour!

Yesterday was a more chilled out day. But a very lovely day spent with the boyfriend!
Tonight, I DID go swimming for possibly the first time in around ten years? I really need to gain some more confidence in the water, since at the moment I'm still nervous. I managed to kick with my float, which I always loved doing as a child. I used one arm whilst having my other arm on the float too. I floated without using anything to help me towards the pool edge, but I'm still lacking confidence when my nose and ears go in the water. It's definitely linked to my 'almost drowning' incident. So, I'm taking it easy, one step at a time to gain my confidence again!

To some of you experienced swimmers, I'll sound like a right idiot. In fact, I feel a right idiot. But it doesn't matter!
Anyway, I hope you're all having a very lovely week so far.

Ren Clearcalm

Ren Blemish Prone Kit

We all suffer the occasional 'pimple' now and again... However, it's been more than the occasional one or two for me recently.
My skin has gone down hill a little lately, and I'm in need of a health kick! I've only just started using this Ren blemish prone kit for the past two days. Already, I'm loving how it makes my skin feel. It gives it a very soft tingly feeling, as if you've just been pampered with an expensive facial. As for toning down scars, blemishes and redness, it's too early to tell! I've got high hopes for this little kit as my skin is in need of some help! I'll let you know how I get on with it!

Lately, I've been really wanting to do some more exercise in general, eat more fruit and vegetables and generally feeling better about myself.
As I mentioned in my weekly roundup post, I've been wanting to start swimming again. To cut a long story short, I almost drowned when I was 6 or 7. This really knocked down my confidence in the water. In fact, ever since, I've hated being in water. If it comes anywhere higher than my waist, it makes me panic and feel all 'claustrophobic' in a way. I was a fairly decent swimmer, and I'm really hoping to push myself back into it. I do feel stupid about the fact I can't really swim, but having said that, I've discovered a lot of people can't.
If anyone of you are interested in finding out how I'll be getting on with it, let me know.

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely week so far. It's Friday tomorrow, and I'm so grateful! This week seems like it's been going on forever, and I can't wait for my long weekend!

Weekly Roundup

Outfit details // My carrot has legs // Bargain dress
Harebells at sunset
Bird dress // Cable car fail // Great Orme, Llandudno
Little black snail
Favourite nail art // Topshop dress // Yummy frozen yogurt

My past week has been rather nice. It's been more relaxing than previous weeks! The highlights of my week have been : spending time with my boyfriend, a random visit to the church yard (I ended up photographing loads of flowers and lichens, you can see them here) spending more time with my Canon in general, eating yummy frozen yogurt which actually tasted like ice cream and re-kindling my love for the little things in life that makes me happy!

I'm looking forward to next weekend due to a bank holiday on Monday! I'm hoping to spend a long weekend with my boyfriend going for days out! We've also said we're going to take a long walk somewhere with our cameras! I really cant wait.
Oh, and another thing...I really want to go swimming. I got the urge last week, but I've lost all my confidence unfortunately. I almost drowned as a child, even though I became a really good swimmer.... I haven't really wanted to face a swimming pool ever since. But lately I've been looking for a relaxing 'exercise' to do after work and if all goes well, I'll be back in the pool!

I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend!

Black And White

Top : New Look // Dress : Topshop // Belt : Miss Selfridge
Bag : Ebay // Ring : Gift from a friend
Nails : Models Own Nude Beige, Snow White, Jade Green and Pastel Pink
& Barry M Blue & Topshop nail art pen

After a gorgeous couple of days last week which I unfortunately didn't get to make the most of, the weather has turned once again!! Literally, I haven't seen summer. I don't think I know what summer means any more...
Despite the awful weather, I've been casually wearing skirts and dresses around the house!

Yesterday was my first day back after my dental thingy-bob! I'm strangely not feeling like myself at all... My boyfriend often tells me that my eyes look angry, although when I'm happy, they really open up! My eyes look super angry here, I'm not, honest - it's just that my stitches really restrict how much I can smile or open my mouth, and that really comes across badly through my eyes! It'll all be worth it in a while when I no longer feel pain when I smile!

Anyway, in all honesty, I have a lot to look forward to. Me and my boyfriend have agreed to film my friend's brother in law's wedding next month which will be lovely. I love weddings, and of course, I'll have to find a cute outfit to go too! A few days later, we're heading off to London. I'm hoping to go and see Shrek the musical, possibly visit the Harry Potter studio tour, and have lovely meals out with a large glass of wine in my hand...!
If there's anywhere you can suggest or recommend, please do so!

Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely week so far.

Weekly Roundup

Criccieth
A lovely and unexpected package from Zoe // Time for tea // Strawberries
Lavish Alice disaster // Cadwalader's ice cream // A few days after my frenectomy
A trip to Criccieth is not complete without Cadwalader's ice cream
New hair // Goodies from Zoe // Little monkeys
My favourite flower

Considering this last week was not a particularly pleasant one, I have tried to make the most of it! For all of you asking how Thursday went, it went as good as it could've gone. I now have eight little stitches sitting on the inside of my upper lip until they'll be removed on Thursday. Yes, it is a bit sore, and yes it's uncomfortable, but it's a pain I am willing to put up with for the time being. The only annoying bit is eating - I've tried to avoid difficult food, and gone for the softies!
Saturday was spent in Criccieth with my dad, we enjoyed a nice walk along the beach followed by a strawberry ice cream at Cadwalader's!
Yesterday evening, my boyfriend came over with lovely flowers and a cute little monkey keyring (we have one each!) So thank you sweetie for coming to see me!

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very lovely weekend.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Hair Care

How's your week been?
I got my dental frenectomy over and done with....Thank god for that...! Today is a bit better than yesterday. I woke up feeling ok after wondering whether I'd fall asleep or not. I'm hoping this is my journey to recovery now - and I'm getting all 8 yucky stitches taken out next Thursday!

Anyway, this post isn't about my dental treatments, it's about hair....
My hair has been rather annoying me for quite some time...It's been bleached over and over, and despite conditioning it like mad I was still unhappy with the way it looked.
In fact, I didn't truly know which products I should be using and how often, and how styling it almost every day could be so damaging.
My ever so faithful hairdresser which I've been seeing for absolute years suggested the products above. And so the other day when I got my hair dyed and cut (It looks much darker than it does in the photo above!) I also purchased these...

SP Repair Shampoo
SP Repair Conditioner
SP Volumize Leave-in Conditioner
SP Perfect Ends

The volumizing leave-in conditioner is absolutely perfect and such a great idea. Apply a small amount which comes out as a mousse to your damp hair, then style. My hairdresser suggested I blow dry my hair and leave some velcro rollers in for a while as an alternative to straightening my hair all the time. Or put it to the side, or up on alternating days when I haven't washed my hair.
She gave me a used bottle of the SP Perfect Ends so I could try it out at home, and I can't wait to give my hair a good wash and style to try out all the products! I'll let you know how I get on with them.

My hair has become very dry after bleaching, and although I now have darker, more natural shades in my hair, I want to look after it as best as I can.
Which products do you swear by for your hair?

Recent Purchases...

Dress : H&M
Scarf : Miss Selfridge
Leather Jacket : Primark
Nails : Models Own 'Nude Beige' & Elegant Touch Bling

A little Instagram post for you today - I recently took a trip to H&M and got these three items at the sale! (Well...the pink jacket wasn't on sale, but it was cleverly placed by the changing rooms, and of course, it was absolutely unavoidable!)
I've noticed I've been wearing dresses a lot more than usual lately. I don't know if my head has finally got round the fact it's actually summer or what...! But I'm enjoying wearing dresses for the first time in a long time!

I hope you're all having a wonderful week so far! Tonight, I'm just chilling out. My dental appointment is first thing tomorrow morning, so I'm slightly preparing myself trying to avoid over thinking... I have a couple of posts scheduled up for the next few days too!
Oh, and please ignore the huge huge roots in this photograph as well as the past few posts! I got my hair sorted out tonight, as well as some new products to try out...

Weekly Roundup

Yet another week has been and gone...And yet another late weekly roundup blog post! I've been really busy in general as well as at work.
As I'm chilling in my bed, about to fall asleep soon, I can't help but think about my dental frenectomy which is coming up on Thursday - and thank you for all your kind messages! I'm very much looking forward to getting it over and done with...! (And perhaps treating myself to something nice afterwards!)

Anyway, I hope you've all had a very very lovely weekend! Mine was spent at Conwy, celebrating my boyfriend's 2:1 University results and sprinkling some glitter on my nails!

Now, I must be off to bed....! I hope you've had a lovely Monday, and enjoy the rest of your week! I'm hoping some outfit posts will be popping up soon...

Hello Pink Dress

Dress : H&M
Necklace : Outfit
Ring & Bracelet : Gifts from friends
Nails : GOSH Holographic & Models Own Juicy Jules

After my first outfit of the day on Tuesday, I decided to post another! Thank you for all the lovely comments, they're all very encouraging to read (and yes, they truly do make my day!)
I can't believe I purchased this dress in the H&M sale for £4 after I'd been eyeing it up at full price a while ago. Oh, and you'll be sick of seeing my little swallow ring in a bit, it was a very lovely gift from a very lovely best friend a while ago and I'm still obsessed with it.

This week has been the strangest of weeks in all honesty. I'm going to try and have some outfit posts scheduled for next week as my face will have to be absent from the blogging world for a while...I believe I will be having what is called a frenectomy next Thursday, and if you're a bit squeamish like me, I suggest you avoid googling it...! It's basically the removal of the tissue that holds your upper lip to the gum. Mine is incredibly low, and has caused me some discomfort lately - and so it has to go....Bye bye little piece of whatever you are.
I'm NOT looking forward to this at all... At the moment, the thought of it makes me feel quite sick, so I'm hoping that you're all wishing me the best of luck! I will have to take a few days off work due to the fact I won't be able to talk much, and I haven't yet managed to think of how I'll be able to eat, or what...
Anyway, onwards and upwards - I'll be chilling out next week with stacks of DVD's I haven't watched in a while!

I hope you've all had a very lovely week so far.
Are you up to anything interesting over the weekend?
