Jane Rose

Jane recently got a very exciting video made to promote her business - it's all very exciting! We've spent a lot of time together discussing ideas photography wise, for her website, and also the 'overall' look of the business.
The video really reflects her personality and style so well, it's truly adorable. These are some of the 'behind the scenes' photographs I took of her on the day. Hopefully, I'll be doing more photography work for Jane. I always love spending time with her and her beautiful cakes.
If you haven't seen her wedding cakes yet, you'll be blown away. Her sugar flowers are truly magical, I've never seen anything like it before.

I think of you every second of every day...

I can't believe it'll be seven years without my mum on Saturday... I always hate this time of year, the awful memories seem like nightmares engraved in my mind. I remember everything as if it happened yesterday.
I had a very happy childhood. My dad suffered a very awful car accident when he was just 25 and was told he'd never be able to work again. My mum became his full time carer. My parents were always around, they didn't have stressful jobs to go to, they dropped us off at school each morning, and were always there to pick us up. I was very much what I like to call 'bubble-wrapped' as a child, and still enjoy sugar coating life. I like to surround myself with pretty things, purely because life can be hard at times.
My life has changed a lot over these past few months, and I'm very lucky to have incredibly supportive people by my side.

Life Lately

 photo IMG_6077_zps961a2168.jpg photo Fiona-Blog1_zps3af91bc2.jpg photo IMG_5964_zpsd69a62aa.jpg

Life has been hectic lately, I rarely find the time to get blog posts sorted! These photographs were taken a while ago, and I've got so much more to show you! The weather has been lovely in north Wales (up until last Tuesday) Last weekend was spent 'celebrating' being with my boyfriend for 6 months. When I say 'celebrating' we had a pizza and a pint - and it was lovely! This weekend I pampered myself after receiving a lovely voucher as a thank you gift from Jane. I never go to a salon or spa for treatments, so it was very lovely! I ended up getting eyelash extensions (will post a review!), a much needed eyebrow wax and a shellac manicure.
My boyfriend is having his birthday in a few weeks time which I'm also looking forward to. I've booked a week off work and I'm very tempted to book for us to go somewhere... Another plan is to see where it's meant to be sunny, and just go there! We'll see...

I hope you've all enjoyed the weekend!

Pink Lemonade

 photo Photo04-06-2013163307_zpsca329fc9.jpg photo IMG_0951_zpsd4be0722.jpg

I made some very yummy pink lemonade over the weekend. I've been wanting to make homemade lemonade for quite some time, and I had the perfect opportunity to do so when I knew I was going to be photographing the lovely Jane! I used it as a lovely prop to take some photographs outside in the lovely sunshine we've been having these past few days.
It would be perfect teamed with some alcohol as a cocktail, or on its own with some fizz!
Here's the recipe...

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
6 lemons juiced
4 cups of cold water
1 cup of cranberry juice

The recipe is very simple to follow. All you need to do is dissolve 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water over a medium heat. Let this mixture cool down (this will be your basic syrup)
Once cooled, add your lemon juice, 4 cups of cold water and your cup of cranberry juice. You can also add some sparkling water at this point if you want to add some fizz.
Pour your lemonade into a swing top bottle if you have one, or in a jug with some chopped lemons and ice cubes!
